![]() Also, the car setup is missing some options, like toe angle, that I often use to fine-tune the balance of a car. The R5 and WRC cars still seem pretty decent, although the low-speed vague hovercraft feeling is still present as it was in previous WRC titles. It's apparent that the physics simulation is built entirely for the AWD cars, but it completely falls apart when dealing with anything 2WD. The FWD cars are able to somehow produce an excessive amount of wheelspin, like driving for a hundred yards or more while producing continuous, steady-state wheelspin like a dragster doing a burnout, yet they don't always plunge into massive understeer when wheelspin occurs. It's also worse than KT's own, much more arcade-style, V-Rally 4. ![]() It's actually worse than DiRT 4 in that regard. The RWD cars are extremely reluctant to give any on-throttle oversteer. Now that I've spent some more time playing this, I have to say that the more I play it, the less impressed I am with the physics & handling. I don't hate the game, on the contrary it has a well deserved place in my collection, but I do think it's very overhyped. Also when you consider that I bought it at release, once I've added the season 3 & 4 pass then it becomes close to a $150 game (we generally get overcharged in the Swiss PS store), which is poor value for money when you consider that the season passes basically contain recycled, albeit remastered, content from DR 1. I know it's a controversial opinion, but that's how I see it. Add to that, that if you're a cockpit driver on the PS4, then you only have a choice of driving from the back seat or the boot (trunk) which is a complete immersion killer. Yeah, DR 2 is great fun, but it's a bit flick in, hold opposite lock, and straighten up and then rinse and repeat - there's not much fighting the car, plus what I can only describe as an invisible helping hand from god in terms of what you can get away with. From my personal perspective DR 2 handles like it was made from the ground up to be primarily a controller game - this is kind of borne out with the fact that it was released with wheel support almost completely broken - this has been fixed to a degree, but it still doesn't offer the depth and information that the FFB of DR 1 provides.
